About City Island

City Island is a great place to spend the weekend or have a day of fun and play. It is located at the western end of Long Island Sound and Eastchester Bay . Once described as " Key West with street smarts," City Island is an eclectic small haven away from the hustle and bustle of nearby New York city life.

Accessible by road or water, it is one of the most unique neighborhoods of New York. It is thirty minutes to Manhattan by nearby subway or expressway and is 40 minutes from the George Washington Bridge. Lower Fairfield County in Connecticut is 30 minutes away on I-95.

There is a bed and breakfast on the island and numerous hotels and accommodations in the surrounding New York metropolitan area.

City Island is known for it's many seafood restaurants. There are also several restaurants with ethnic flavor to suit any palate.
