Fishing on Long Island Sound

First in a series of videos, Capt. Steve discusses the many lures than can be used to catch striped bass and other fish in Western Long Island Sound.

The fishing
Spider Hitch is a perfect vessel for fly fishing, drift fishing, as well as for all "skinny water" situations. Captain Steve will sail her to the places where he thinks the fish are plentiful. This knowledge has come from years of experience and success at fishing on Long Island Sound. The target fish are striped bass, bluefish, weakfish, fluke, porgies and blackfish depending on the time of year. In addition, the captain will help you identify unique waterfowl and other sights that provide fun along the way.

What to bring
Bring clothing appropriate for the time of year - a long sleeved technical shirt for sun protection and boat shoes or sneakers, for example. Foul weather gear and boots are wet weather essentials. Bring your own food and beverages as well as sun screen and a camera to record the natural beauty of the area and you’ll be set to go. We will provide custom tackle or you may bring your own, if suitable.
